When Ty, from My Other Bike is a Bike, asked us if he could borrow the Brompton G-Line so he could review it for a ride in the snow, we were intrigued. After all, when we heard his plan, how could we say no? His idea was to ride the bike through the slushy streets of Toronto, and end up at the snow-covered Leslie Street Spit – a 5km jetty that spills into Lake Ontario. The plan here was to ride to the end, prop up a camping chair, and enjoy a hot mug of tea. Along the way Ty discovered the hidden joy of riding in winter, the joy of having the city to himself, and the stability of the new G-Line. But, did the G-Line handle well in the snow? Well, that’s for you to find out!
Ty was one of the first people to test ride the Brompton G-Line in North America. You can watch his first review of the G-Line here. As the owner of an original 16″ wheeled Brompton, Ty was impressed by the stability of the G-Line. Especially notable was the speedier rolling, and the power of the hydraulic brakes. While his first video takes the bike across gravel trails, this latest video takes it over busy, slushy streets, and finally snow covered paths.
Test Ride a G-Line Today!
Do you want to take the Brompton G-Line out for a test ride yourself? Well, you can! At the time of writing, Pedaal has Canada’s only G-Line available for test ride. Want to ride it over snow? Want to have tea by Lake Ontario? You have our full support!
Pre-Order a G-Line
At Pedaal, we think the G-Line might just be the perfect bike. It’s more stable than the original 16″ wheeled Brompton, yet it still folds up just as easily for storage at work or at home – instantly solving the problem of theft. The best thing about the G-Line is that it isn’t just limited to the daily commute. If you want to adventure onto gravel roads, urban bike trails, or hard packed dirt, it really starts to sing. With very few G-Lines allocated to the Canadian market, all you need to do is place a $500 deposit before April 1st, and we’ll see the bikes arrive in early May.
