In February 2025, Pedaal will be featuring Monogram Coffee as its guest roaster. Founded in 2014 by Jeremy Ho, Justin Eyford, and Ben Put, Monogram Coffee has become a staple in Calgary’s coffee scene. (Others include Rosso Coffee and Phil & Sebastian). From its beginnings as a pop-up coffee cart in Calgary’s DaDe Art and Design Lab, Monogram has grown into a powerhouse in the Canadian coffee world.
Core Values
Monogram is well known for its careful approach to coffee. Sourcing, roasting and retailing are all driven by five core values—Community, Serving Others, Quality, Stewardship, and Wonder. Wonder? That’s right. We like that they focus on the ephemeral! And, Monogram works closely with producers, building personal, traceable relationships that ensure farmers are paid fairly and supported in sustainable ways. The result is coffee that is incredibly sweet, clean, and balanced.
Eclectic Rewards
The team at Monogram is a diverse mix of photographers, foodies, scientists, and even a competitive speed-skaters! All are united by a passion for coffee and a desire to serve others. This dedication has earned Monogram numerous accolades, including recognition from the Specialty Coffee Association and multiple barista championship wins.
On Offer
We hand-selected the coffees on offer this February at Pedaal. First there is Hacienda Barbara. From the lush volcanic soils of Boquete, Panama, is a celebrated Catuai known for its caramel, orange, and red apple notes. From Guatemala’s Acatenango region, La Laguneta delivers a smooth balance of milk chocolate, almond, and caramel—crafted through innovative drying techniques. Ethiopia’s Gedeb Zone brings us Daniel Mijane’s vibrant natural-processed coffee, bursting with peach, melon, and strawberry. Rounding out the selection is Heart Eyes, Monogram’s seasonal February blend, a delightful fusion of Elida Estate Natural Catuai and Bambito Washed Catuai, tasting like peach-vanilla pie and caramel candy.
