April Volcan Azul Costa Rica

Considered one of the top three roasters in the world, we are pleased to present Copenhagen’s April Coffee at Pedaal. Volcan Azul, located in Costa Rica’s highlands, is run by Alejo Castro, whose family has been cultivating coffee for generations. Alejo blends tradition with innovation, using sustainable farming practices and cutting-edge drying methods to elevate the farm’s coffee. With a commitment to environmental care and flavor, Volcan Azul has earned a reputation for producing top-tier, eco-conscious beans.

This SL-28 varietal, grown from Kenyan seeds, showcases Alejo’s passion for experimenting with new coffee varieties. The beans are dried on patios at 1500 meters above sea level before being refined in mechanical dryers. Natural anaerobic fermentation adds depth, delivering a cup bursting with red fruits, brown spice, and cooked apple. Volcan Azul is a perfect fusion of Costa Rican heritage and modern coffee craftsmanship.
